Full Day 9.30am to 4.00pm
Led by Professor Kevan Wylie, this workshop will allow for a safe learning facility to explore and understand the needs of Trans people seeking care within the NHS. It will outline the various options for assessment and progression for endocrine therapy, psychological and social support as necessary and onward decision making for gender confirmatory surgery. UK legislation include the Gender Recognition Act will be detailed.
After you have attended this course you will:
- Understand some of the nomenclature for Trans people
- Appreciate of the UK guidelines on the assessment, management and support of Trans people seeking NHS care
- Recognise the extent of provision of care for Trans people commissioned by NHS England
