Working with Perpetrators of Stalking: Assessment and Management

Full Day 9am to 4.30pm

Presented by Dr Rajan Darjee.Stalking is of increasing concern to society, often causes long-term psychosocial damage to victims and sometimes escalates to violence. This training will cover: definitions of stalking, the prevalence of stalking behaviour, stalking legislation, types of stalkers, the relationship between stalking and mental disorders, risk factors for ongoing stalking and violence, risk assessment in stalking cases and risk management (including treatment and victim safety planning).

This training will give participants a detailed overview of the latest research, literature and practice developments related to stalking. It will be focussed on applying this knowledge in practice to help professionals develop and improve their skills at assessing, treating and managing stalking cases they work with.

After you have attended this seminar, you will:

  • Understand the different motivations for stalking
  • Know how to assess risk in stalking cases
  • Know how to develop a management plan for stalking cases
