This is an opportunity for staff working to meet the mental health needs of those with LTCs and MUS to benefit from the knowledge and expertise of leading specialists from across the nation. The conference will provide the highest possible quality of training in this specialist field and aims to create an environment for sharing ideas and innovations.
The Five Year Forward View envisaged a shift towards mental health expertise being better integrated into physical health care settings. Initiatives around achieving CORE-24, geared at providing services within emergency and urgent care have dominated the first few years of this strategy. More recently however, the spotlight has shifted onto the mental health needs of those with long term conditions and medically unexplained symptomatology and national guidance has been published on how IAPT and secondary care mental health resources should be integrated into general hospital and community healthcare settings.
